Off-grid hydrogen generation

Off-grid solar panel powered solution to feed hydrogen fuel cells through isolated DC/DC converters. Each converter provides MPPT per solar string to achieve highest efficiency.

This isolated DC/DC converter was developed under the frame of a European Project called “eLY4OFF” (http://ely4off.eu/). The full title was “PEM Electrolysers for operation with off-grid renewable installations”.

The main challenge from the point of view of power electronics consisted in developing the necessary architecture to couple the electrolyser with RE generation (PV), focusing on improving efficiency and enhancing flexibility.
